| The theatre and its boxes is pretty identical to Vicky's, just more colour like the Queens Room. There's a painting in Clarendon's of the three Queens off Lisbon which we think is dreadful and definitely overpriced but the bloke in the gallery became defensive about. I've never seen the point of paintings taken from photographs. Can't they use their bloody imaginations???? I spotted Vicky through the window of the Britannia so, when I'd finished, went to get my warm clothes on and woke Oskar up. This was the second time in just over eight months we led the way - fab! Contrary to Cunard's e-ticket, we would actually be docking in Mayflower Terminal not Ocean as Mary would be in there. Vicky would be in City with Saga Sapphire in front in 102. They still shut us in but we never let a good barrier stop us so just ducked under. There was a thunderstorm going on and typically no lightning came out in the photos or video. We grabbed breakfast in the Lido as Mary was docking and they had run out of orange juice. You'd think with the amount they dilute it they wouldn't. Then back out for Saga Sapphire. Oskar didn't stay out too long because he was too cold despite being Norwegian. |

| We had decided to keep our cases and just walk off, as did many others and stayed in the cabin as close to 8.30am as we could. There was some confusion as to where you were disembarking. We had boarded on deck 3 but were leaving via deck 1. It was sad to leave in a way. After the stress and worry of whether or not I'd get any shifts during December thanks to zillions of agency staff then doing five nights on the trot from New Year's Day, I really needed this trip and it was a brilliant one, really helping me relax. I have enjoyed both Bookend Queens after years of resistance but think Betty Boo just has the edge over Vicky for me. She will NEVER be Lizzie to me because that was and still is the QE2. Oskar calls her that but admitted he has no affinity to her predecessor, unlike me. Despite being mass produced Vistas with some bad layout (such as bars too far from the dining room), they have a very cosy, friendly feel and I will definitely be back. Just wish rip off single supplements were fair again.
