Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all cruise lines suspended operations from various dates in March 2020. Three ships instead of four on the 13th December 2021 as AIDAprima changed the call to Cherbourg due to the UK Government's new rules than no one is allowed off in the UK without a PCR test, even on shore excursions. Aurora was in City, having arrived the day before. Mary booted Betty out of Ocean as they changed her crossing from the 15th to the 13th, cancelling my 10th-15th December cruise, because the CDC wanted two extra days to inspect everything. And finally Betty up in Mayflower, which I'd transferred my cruise to. Aurora was due to head to Hamburg at 4pmso I went on deck to get her. The weather had been awful, finally stopping as she left. We sailed just before 6pm, passing the very well lit new Horizon Terminal. Despite blasting at Mary, she constantly ignored, with only our echo in the air. Mary had been due to also sail at 6pm but left at almost 8.20pm. |
