Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all cruise lines suspended operations from various dates in March 2020. Four weeks late due to crew being diagnosed with Covid but on the 13th August 2021 was the day Cunard restarted cruising! Mary had been in since the 8th, having turned around from starboard to port on the 12th. Betty had arrived from Nab anchorage after midnight, assisted by tugs Phenix and Lomax while the Disney was on another Seacation turnaround. Originally, both Queens were supposed to sail at 6pm but Betty was put back an hour. Mary was then delayed by a medevac, so left with one less crew member. The Disney went at 6.15pm and had a horn battle with Mary. Then Mary left, having one with Betty. Betty had to let a feeder pass then was assisted by Lomax on the stern and Svitzer Bargate on the stern, heading for Claggain Bay. |
