An early start on the 16th May 2015 as five ships were due with staggered departure times. Eclipse was due first at the usual 5.15am followed by Arcadia and Britannia for 5.45am, Mein Schiff 1 at 6.30am and Silver Whisper bringing up the rear and docking at 7am. Well it was mostly right! Britannia ended up between Mein Schiff 1 and Whisper, coming in an hour later than scheduled. Eclipse and Arcadia arrived as it was getting light. It had been three weeks since I'd seen Arcadia due to working and was surprised they hadn't started painting her with the new livery. I was very excited at the Celebrity reunion between Eclipse and the former Galaxy, especially as the latter would be docked behind Eclipse. Okay so technically Galaxy became Mein Schiff before Eclipse touched water but you can still see where the chi went on the funnel and is still owned by RCCL so they're siblings. They have the same mother (Meyer Werft) - but different fathers (Chandris and RCCL). Meanwhile, Britannia arrived with the aid of the tugs Alma and Ferriby to help her dock. Red Osprey stopped as she turned off Ocean Dock while cutie Whisper did the same by Dock Head. Once they were in, we went home and it started to rain despite not being forecast - grrr! |
