Anthem of the Seas & Norwegian Escape UK Debut
It was a hello and goodbye on the 27th October 2015.  Anthem of the Seas completed her final Southampton roundtrip and would be heading to New York due to transferring Quantum to China after dredging in Bermuda didn't happen and repositioning Anthem to the Big Apple instead of Fort Lauderdale.  Meanwhile, NCL's brand new 164.600grt Norwegian Escape had sailed from Hamburg on the 25th.  Like Norwegian Getaway, she would be doing a one-night cruise from Southampton then one night showcase before sailing on the 29th to Miami.  We skipped Anthem's arrival since it was a good two hours before the newbie.  Escape was due for 7.15am.  It was windy down the marina making it feel bitterly cold.  John and Roz Kennedy were waiting too.  Surprisingly for a new ship, not many were about.  We finally saw her having passed Fawley around 6.50am so there was no way she'd be on time.  By the time she was docking at 7.30am we all left.  When we returned in the afternoon the bitterly cold wind had turned into a mild breeze and rain.  Anthem was scheduled to sail at 4.30pm with Escape half an hour later.  Well Anthem began throwing the lines about ten minutes after time while Escape sat there and sat there and sat there.  Muster had been at 4pm apparently and the gangways had gone, as had her stern ropes by the time Anthem passed.  She finally began to move at 5.40pm and headed off in her overnight booze cruise.
