Aurora, Independence of the Seas, Emerald Princess, Oceana (II) & Balmoral
Five ships again on the 31st May 2014 and once again, because the fruit shed was now in regular use, we had City Terminal being doubled up as Balmoral was docked astern of Indy.  Aurora was in QEII, Emerald Princess in Ocean and Oceana up in Mayflower.  Four of these had been in on the 17th, with Emerald replacing MSC Opera and Black Watch this time around.  Meanwhile, as we headed to the marina, Shieldhall went out and she blew her whistle at Tenacious, which was returning.  Then we went to the front and the dry weather not only brought out the morons but also the flying things, which seem to have bred since the last time we were there.  This was the first time I'd seen Emerald Princess here since she arrived, having only seen her previously in Saint Petersburg in 2009 (ironically with Aurora) and in a dark English Channel on the 4th May.  She had been due to sail first at 4pm but as usual, bugger all went to plan, meaning Aurora was able to slip out just after time with Indy making sure everyone knew she was off too - several times!  Since Indy had been forced to give way to Emerald, it gave Oceana a chance to let everyone know she was joining the sailaway party.  Typically Oceana lived up to the Jinxy nickname I gave her in April 2006 as the rain started!  Oceana and Royal Princess are rain freaks!  Still, it sorts the fairweathers from the serious bunch as a bit of wet stuff drove most away.  Balmoral went astern to turn then headed out as Shieldhall returned.
