Adventure of the Seas & Quantum of the Seas
It was time to say two goodbyes on the 2nd November 2014 as Adventure was being replaced in 2015 by Explorer while Quantum headed over the New York for her Bermuda season until repositioning in China in 2015.  Adventure, unusually, was in QEII Terminal, sailing 4.30pm while Quantum was in City, going half an hour later.  I met up with my Norwegian friend, Oskar Osmundsen, and we headed to Mayflower Park for photos after lunch and going to Ocean Village for the sailaway boat trip.  Thankfully we were there first, which I wanted with my broken foot and crutches.  It had tried raining again but thankfully held off so it wouldn't be like the wind and wet stuff in the morning.  John and Roz Kennedy, Slinky Dave Shepherd and Andrew and Donna Cooke were also on Ocean Scene.  After such a gloomy day, typically the sun came out just in time for it to set!  People had come far and wide for this including Gloucester, Sussex and even a coach trip from somewhere.  Some passengers waved at us from their balconies as we passed Adventure.  Rather annoyingly, rather than be near her when she sailed, we hung around Quantum then went up as far as SCT5, turning by the Hyundai Together to return to Quantum.  Then we were told by the skipper Quantum was delayed until 6pm - the time we were due back in Ocean Village.  The bridge lights went off and Nab lights turned on with about twenty minutes to go.  Ten minutes and the ropes began to go, final ones at 6pm.  Thankfully the skipper stayed out so we followed her as she noisily went astern to the Lower Swinging Ground but sadly did head back to the Village as she turned.  John and Roz gave us a lift to West Quay so I could catch my bus while Oskar returned to his hotel cold and tired but happy.
