Independence of the Seas, Queen Victoria & Adonia (II)
OA very early start on the 11th November 2012 as I was returning on Independence of the Seas after a cruise to the Canary Islands.  It hadn't escaped my notice the date was exactly four years since I was also up in the middle of the night, that time for the final arrival of the QE2 before she sailed to Dubai.  We docked by 5.30am and Queen Victoria was due an hour later, Adonia following at 7.15am.  There was mist forming from the water and the air was bitterly cold, around 0c.  The sun was beginning to come up as the very dark Cunarder appeeared through the slight mist patch we'd gone through at Dock Head, but it had formed more heavily when Adonia emerged.
More people were taking pictures of us than on Indy of her.  I went to disembark after Adonia had passed.  Being a Sunday, buses didn't start until after 9am with the Hythe ferry an hour later.  As it was 7am, there was no way I was waiting.
The review of my Indy cruise can be found here.
