Aurora & Queen Victoria
Independence of the Seas arrived back in Southampton from her maiden voyage at 5.15am on the 6th May 2008, beating Aurora and Queen Victoria.  As the light came up the mist appeared making visibility down river dreadful.  I finally caught sight of them at 5.45am.  Aurora was due for 6.40 with Queen Victoria at 7am.  QV didn't look that far behind so could be early.
Aurora proceeded to position herself in the Upper Swinging Ground while QV made her way to the one at Ocean Dock where they then both turned almost simultaneously.
And so they were in and the excitement of the morning over.  To see Independence of the Seas sail on her maiden voyage, click here.  Click here to read a review of the maiden voyage.
