About six hours after leaving the lock at IJmuiden on Queen Elizabeth, the brand new Rotterdam was en route to Amsterdam from Rotterdam on the 17th October 2021. Originally announced to be Ryndam (IV), this 99,500grt next Pinnacle class ship was renamed Rotterdam at the end of July 2020 after Carnival Corporation had sold the previous Rotterdam with her sister Amsterdam to Fred Olsen. I was sitting on the top deck and it was pretty windy with the motion of the ocean, so apologies for the photos. By the time Artania was in sight, I was on the balcony but wind was still an issue.
