Aegean Odyssey & Queen Victoria in Malaga
Another new ship for me on the 7th November 2017 in the form of Aegean Odyssey, which was in Malaga with us, having ended a cruise and would be sailing the following night at 11pm.  The 12,094grt ship began life in 1973 as a ferry.  She eventually was bought by Dolphin Hellas Cruises in 1986, converted to a cruise ship and emerged as Aegean Dolphin two years later.  A deal to sell her to Louis Cruise Line in 2005 fell through and she was laid up until bought by Gerry Herrod for his new Voyages to Antiquity line in 2009.  He had been the founder of Ocean Cruise Line and Orient Line.  The ship underwent rebuilding, reducing capacity from 570 to 350 making it a more intimate experience.
The review of my Queen Victoria cruise can be found here.
