Queen Mary & Carnival Pride
Before boarding Vision of the Seas for our cruise on the 23rd March 2008, Amy and her family took me to see the Queen Mary at Long Beach.  We spent a few hours there, as well as having lunch, and we also had company.  The 88,500grt Carnival Pride, precursor to the Vistas of Holland America, P&O and Cunard and also closer to Queen Victoria, Costa Luminosa and the forthcoming Queen Elizabeth. This ship had her maiden voyage in 2002 and was also doing a Mexican Riviera cruise.
Then we left to check in for our cruise in San Pedro.  But it wasn't to be the last we saw of Pride.  She would be sailing out with us.  For photos of that click here.  To read a review of our Vision cruise, click here.
