Marco Polo - Easter Break to Ireland & Isles of Scilly
While my dad was doing his eye drops, I decided to pop out for the sunset.  Despite the sea being a millpond, it was very windy.  At 11pm, they had the Magnifique Buffet, with photos 15 allowed minutes before.  The smell was amazing, particularly the chocolate, but that's all I got before heading to bed.
Crack of yawn start on Easter Sunday to get photos of Saga Sapphire at the Cobh cruise terminal as we passed en route to Ringaskiddy and were slightly earlier than planned.  Luckily we were a short walk away from outside.  There was rebuilding work going on, partially funded by the EU, so it sort of ruined the view of Cobh and Sapphire.  Again, we waited a while for breakfast and later, the fog had come down.  We both decided to stay on the ship so he had a snooze while I went to the Captain's Club.  Carol joined me ordering a kiwi smoothie.  Sapphire was sailing at 12pm so we watched that then went for lunch.  I got my food and grabbed a table outside while my dad did his eye, ordering a kiwi smoothie for me and virgin strawberry colada for him while he went for his own food.  Since he could see partially better since the cataract op, he was gaining more confidence at doing things himself.  The burger place was almost finished for the day so all chips must go!  Lazy afternoon but two kiwi smoothies and crisps before sailaway.  It had been cooler than the past two days so I wore my fleece.  Captain blew the horn passing Cobh.  Dinner after dropping the pilot then time to sort the cases and put one out before bed.
The last morning - sob!  Even though we weren't due to arrive into Cardiff until 10am, we had to be out of the cabins by 8.30am.  We decided to grab a table for breakfast then waited until it opened.  After returning to collect our things, we went on the deck to watch the arrival.  Having watched her come in then sailed out on her in June 2018, it was fun doing it the other way (minus watching her sail).  Pretty windy still but it was nice seeing how they did it.  We said goodbye to Carol and eventually found a seat in the buffet afterwards and waited for the label colour to be called, which was fourth and earlier than expected.

So that was that.  Due to engineering works part of the way, we'd booked the Future Inn at Cardiff Bay, where I stayed the night before my 2018 June cruise and thankfully, despite a 2pm check-in time, the girl let us book 3 hours in early.  Marco Polo is really growing on me and has become my second favourite after Astoria.  People look down their noses at CMV because they're cheap but they're still pretty good considering and have become my favourite cruise line.  No gimmicks or zillion ways to rip you off while cutting to the bone, unlike other lines.  There's not much to cut as it is.  I cannot wait to go back on her!
