| QE2 and QM2 returned from their tandem transatlantic on the 22nd October 2008. I was sailing on Lizzie that day and originally she and Mary were sailing at the usual time until Cunard changed Mary to refit. Because I was boarding I couldn't visit as I had the previous four times Lizzie had been in, so took the opportunity to take the Blue Funnel harbour tour and get these two together in their home for the final time then off to Town Quay for Mary's departure. My dad was at the marina for Lizzie's and it is the ONLY time she reversed into the Itchen as she sailed. When she returned on the 27th, she docked port as usual. |
