| Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all cruise lines suspended operations from various dates in March 2020. Three ships on the 22nd September 2021, including Seven Seas Splendor. This 55,000grt ship was delivered in January 2020 so hadn't been sailing long before everything was shut down. After coming up from the Med, she called into Portsmouth first on the 3rd before arriving in Southampton two days later. She is the first Regent ship to resume cruising, having set off on the 11th. Marella Explorer and Sky Princess were also having turnarounds. They were all scheduled to sail at 5pm. The Marella had finished her summer Seacations and was repositioning to Palma de Mallorca, leaving half an hour early so I just caught her and went via the Needles. Sky threw her ropes fifteen minutes early and backing out while Splendor was moving at 5pm. Sky was doing another Seacation. Splendor was repositioning to the Med but would return in 2022. |
