Azura, Oceana (II), Saga Pearl II/Quest For Adventure & Saga Sapphire
Later that afternoon, we decided not to go on the ferry to get some photos of Saga Pearl II's transformation because it was still bitterly cold, so we went to quite a busy marina.  My back was already hating me so what difference did a bit more agony make?  They hadn't wasted any time as Saga Pearl II ceased to be at around 9.30am and Quest For Adventure was born after a three year delay.  And so time for the action!  Sapphy was 4.30pm, Azura and Oceana 4.30pm while Pearly/Quest was 6/45pm for some reason.  This would be the last we saw of Sapphy until October as she repositioned to Dover for the summer, while Quest wasn't due to return at all.  I over heard someone say Oceana was Adonia.  Where has he been the past seven years????  Oceana was the first to go, bringing the sun and dry weather with her and was followed by Sapphy and Azura, although Azura led the way as Sapphy held back.  Oceana and Azura did a little bit of greeting but nothing to write home about and had long gaps.  The P&O ships are flying the 175th Anniversary flag proudly on the masts this year.  As Azura sailed by, we could hear music from the sailaway party - A Life on the Ocean Wave followed by In The Mood by Glenn Miller.  Is it a family ship???  Sapphy and Quest also greeted each other then this morning's fishing expedition boat returned, passing Sapphy.  Wonder if they caught anything besides flu?
We went home since Quest was so late, we were still cold and the buses were every half hour.  As it turned out, she cast off about 6.30pm and headed off to the Isle of Man, via the Needles.
And so it's goodbye to Saga Pearl II aka Quest for Adventure after just over two years of being a regular visitor.  Meanwhile, this was Sapphy's last cruise until October as she repositioned to Dover for the summer.  To see photos of Saga Sapphire's maiden voyage, click here and Quest For Advenure returning to Southampton in 2013, click here.
