Voyager - Springtime European Voyager
The Sunset Club was nice and empty and there is a door which leads to the outside deck.  You can get to the gym from here or the stairs on the deck below.  There is also another bit of deck the other side of the gym and down to the buffet.  It is really nice here but is a smoking area, at least on the starboard side.  As it had been an early start, I decided to have a snooze for a couple of hours, although I could have listened to the info channel music for ever because they had so much Queen, even stuff not usually heard on the radio.

Seabourn Spirit was the one now sailing at 6pm while coach tours from ours were returning.  Before we cast off, the Captain told us it was Cruise Director Gerry and Executive Chef Bill's birthdays.  I hope they had good ones.  Apparently, as many were engrossed on the top deck, a man pushed a woman into the pool as she was talking to another man.  Then, according to different people, he threw her bag or shoes in after her.  There was opinion he was affected by the sun or just drunk as he was supposedly staggering.  I didn't see it so can't comment.  I decided to go aft on the Promenade deck for sailaway and good job I had since Eurodam was off letting everyone know it as she and her sister exchanged whistles.  Because of our later departure, I missed the solo travellers quiz so just went to dinner and ended up with Peter from Swansea on my table again, who has sailed on Voyager four times, including the maiden voyage, and had booked two more on her.

I saw the show, which I think I'd seen before on Discovery.  It was to be the first and last I saw due to the layout of the Darwin Lounge.  Not Voyages of Discovery's fault since they just bought the ship, but unless you were right at the front, any fancy footwork, floor work or squats by the dancers were a complete waste of time as you can't see it.  I'd love it if they gave the room a complete revamp so everyone had more chance of seeing the dance floor during the next refit.  A wander on deck either side of late night munchies saw Eurodam stalking us as she was heading to Monte Carlo.  I also found more German signs left over from her Phoenix Reisen days.

Beautiful, hot San Remo was our second port of call.  Voyages of Discovery tweeted it was our maiden call.  I like being part of firsts!  I decided to go ashore after lunch when it was hopefully less crowded for the tender.  For a while, I thought I'd be the only one going until two fellow passengers arrived and we also had two crew.  San Remo doesn't get many cruise ships so our bambina had a lot of interest from the locals.  As this was the first proper stroll I'd done since my back was improved, I just had a brief wander for photos of the ship then returned to the tender.  They provided a cold drink as you waited which was very welcome.  It was packed for the return.  It is amazing how many people just walked past the sanitiser, even as I waited to go off the ship.  I bet these would be the first to blame the cruise line if they got sick.  You can be as disgusting as you like in your own home, people, but think about others when you're in public, eh?

When I got back, I found an invitation to a solos lunch under my door so immediately popped down to reception to confirm my attendance.  I also found two US sockets in the cabin, though didn't try them to see if they still work.  Our departure was 5pm and the anchor chain was much quieter than others I've heard.  It was a bit breezy but really nice, the Captain warning us of an impending force 7.  I sat on the aft Prom deck waiting for us to pass Monte Carlo, where Berlin was heading from Nice and Eurodam was docked until 11pm, then went in and had dinner.  It was our first formal night but I skipped the welcome booze ups since it's the same thing on any ship.  Peter from Swansea was on my table again, as was my first Hyacinth!  Thank goodness open seating means I'll never have to suffer her again.  As I'd got sunburn, I bought some sunscreen and after sun from the shop then watched Mrs Henderson Presents and Strangers on a Train on the telly before spotting Azura through the window heading the other way, getting some photos on deck then snoozing.
