Vision of the Seas - 10 British Isles Cruise
The Solarium is one area I always forget about because it's aft on deck 9.  This area will be slightly changed but only the food side to a Park Cafe I think.  I liked it on Radiance, but it was the wrong side there so you could miss it if you used the other door.  This one at least was better.  After going online, I had a lovely doze.  Our departure wouldn't be until 9pm, during dinner, so I had a quick wander before then and we had no departure speech from Captain Lis.  The meatballs I'd ordered had red peppers inside, which I'm allergic to and told them was my dietary requirement along with no salt.  Meanwhile the steak was well done on the outside but still mooing inside, so Dorota went to complain.  I grabbed a burger from the Solarium on the way back to the cabin.
Beautiful Cobh was next and always a pleasure to sail into.  So far I had been to the port on Celebrity Constellation, Navigator of the Seas, Independence of the Seas and Aurora yet the closest I ever came to getting off was Indy but it rained so I took a few photos of the ship and quickly got back on  For the first three, I used it as the day to go around taking photos of the ship while Aurora I stayed on due to my back.  Today, with a bad knee added to the back, I was determined to get off THIS time, pain or no pain.  Although we were due for 9am, we were a little early but at least it was dry.  I was right about missing Seabourn Pride, who was showing up way ahead on the AIS.  If it hadn't been for the thick fog, however, I MAY just have seen her.  The ship had been blowing the foghorn every minute for most of the night and, as we neared the harbour entrance, it lifted like a curtain.  It was completely surreal so glad I was recording at the time.  Not many were on deck to see our arrival, which was a surprise, especially since Americans are obsessed by Ireland.  One on deck noted we were doing the Titanic's calls in reverse order - Cobh (Queenstown), Cherbourg and Southampton.  The tug Lomax, which Cobh borrowed for a few weeks, was tied to a buoy but would be back in Southampton the day before we got there.  I still had my cold so went to bed to try and shake it, getting up for lunch before going ashore.  A passport return letter was on my bed even though I alredy had it back.  Arse and elbow at work once again!  The chill of the morning had made way for gloriously hot sunshine and I regretted taking my jacket!  Back and knee killed as I wandered around snapping my favourite Royal Caribbean ship but she's worth it!  I grabbed a pizza from the Solarium after reboarding and rested my knee until it was nearly time for sailaway.
