| When we neared Gudvangen, I headed back out and the weather was horrendous! Not only rain but the wind was coming straight at us. It was really hard taking photos in those conditions but surprisingly quite few people were out in it. I ended up going to shelter under a lifeboat. We blasted as we passed some houses, some occupants rushing out with phones and cameras to take pictures of us. I ended up going inside until it was time to leave. Anthony was working in the Discovery Lounge and came out with a couple of other waiters. It started drying up as we were leaving - typical! |

| I had a drink in the Discovery Lounge before going back to the cabin. A little later, as we were making a turn, I stood and fell backwards towards the door, hitting the bathroom door handle with my right hip. So, not only does this Captain have an aversion to the funnel lit up and blowing the whistle but he's now trying to kill passengers! After dinner it was the quiz and nitpicker still didn't go. Helen hosted again, thanked me for my criticisms the night before and was a bit better. She really needed to work on banter. I got all our correct answers which led us to a three-way tie-break. I got that too so we won another pen - woooo!!! We went to the crew show afterwards which was excellent. Traditional dancing interlaced with singing. Our steward, Arjay, was part of the dance with what looked like men wearing coconuts. He dropped them at one point but they all looked like they were having fun. |

It was the midnight buffet again then back to the cabin. The ship hit some really bad weather and we could just make out waves crashing over the bow on the webcam. Fabulous weather like that is wasted at night! Ålesund was the next port snd it was pouring! We stayed in bed, Rob having vanished when i got up for lunch then we met we went ashore about 1.30pm when it was dry. The little tourist train which took you to the viewing point had stopped for the day and with over 800 steps, there was no way I could make it. I told Rob to go without me and he marched off so fast I didn't have a chance to tell him I'd stay in town. We docked where Marina had in July 2011, when I'd been on Aurora, so hadn't seen this part of it. |

| I spotted a pretty little boat dressed overall from the window so went up to take a picture then stayed as it was almost sailaway. Then the boat started to spray water! The Captain actually blew the whistle, but only to say goodbye. We have no idea why we had it since it wasn't the last call of the season to the port but it was nice anyway. |
