Because of a cough and the screeching, laughter and racket above my head in the galley, I had a bad night. Within the past few days, some moron had increased the cold around the ship, which also included my cabin. So, like on tour buses, you'd go from a hot outside to freezer and vice versa. It was Antigua and now the 12th December. I'd set my alarm for 5.30am and the next thing I knew it was 6.40am so I got dressed quickly and went on deck. Enchantment of the Seas would be with us and we were ahead - yes!!!!

Did the internet then had another kip before getting ready for my tour. This one, Antigua Highlights, was leaving at 12.30pm so absolutely no time for lunch, meaning the fruit in my cabin was useful. I went down and there was absolutely no one around bar the photographers, and the shore excursions sign pointed towards town. I asked one of the photographers if she knew where we had to meet and she told me to find the lady in the orange top outside the gate. Off I went and was accosted by taxi drivers as well as a woman in an orange top asking if I wanted my hair braided. She did it again later so it's clearly a mantra. I ended up asking some people who sent me in the direction of a lady with a clipboard for helicopter tours. It wasn't her and she didn't know where we met but an old lady was also on the tour wondering the same thing. We went to get a drink while we waited. |

Bobbie and I talked, she saying about her granddaughter being second lead in the shows so I asked if she'd been in the one the other night. When she began mentioning flying to Baltimore, I realised she was from the other ship so hotfooted it back into the port as fast as my back would allow! Good job too since both groups had gathered alongside their respective ships then the Royal Caribbean lot were led off to their bus. Bobbie arrived after they'd gone, joining ours. I informed her the other group went and we compared tickets, which were absolutely identical except ours had more yak on. The lady in pink from the tour company phoned her oppo to let her know she was one short so Bobbie headed off to catch them up. It wasn't her fault really but the woman's for taking them before the meeting time (which was 12.15pm). Then we were route marched out.

There seemed to be some disagreement whose bus we'd be freezing on and in the end got a driver called Ellis who was also the guide and the pink top lady disappeared. So off we went, first stop the Blockhouse. I saw Bobby haggling over some cheap crap jewellery and noticed a green bus begin to drive off. Worried she'd be left behind, I asked what colour hers was to which she replied white. Once she'd bought her junk, we went to the white ones only for the driver of the green one to run over and say to her, "Aren't you the lady on my bus?" Oops! Next stop was a short drive away called Shirley Heights, and there was a swarm of bees by the edge which looked like big fat flies. I'd spoken to Bobbie's driver after getting off my bus, telling him about her scattiness and what happened so far and he said he'd have to keep an eye on her. Then he fetched her from more junk stalls. I couldn't believe I'd found another Carmel! Still, I'd have a story to tell at dinner, which made a change from hearing about Carmel's hair woes. Final stop for forty-five minutes was Nelson's Dockyard, where a guide told us about the place and we had a free drink (water, rum punch or fruit punch). I had fruit then sat with Bobbie outside, walking her to her bus this time then boarding mine to wait for the others. You couldn't help but laugh. Then it was back to the ship.

My hair was a mess after that so I washed it then let it dry as I had a drink outside the Seaside with Pilar and Novella. We and Enchantment were due to sail at 5pm so I headed up a deck and waited for whoever would go first. It was the Royal Caribbean, who was chucking her ropes fifteen minutes early. She gave three short blasts to indicate going astern then we responded so we had a mini horn battle but let's call it a draw. We did the same when it was our turn. It was nice seeing another of my favourite Vision class, which made me long to be on Vision again. Shouldn't really be thinking of others while having a wonderful time on my favourite Celebrity ship.

Dinner was interesting with Leather Woman wearing tight white trousers with a top baring her midriff! What pensioner wears things like that? She put her cardie on and as she left, she not only tried to pull the top down, but proceeded to scratch her bum! No woman does that unless they're a chav! We went onto the lovely warm Prom deck and I saw a ship which turned out the be Europa en route from St. Maarten to Antigua then I went before I turned into pumpkin at midnight since I had a busy day ahead.
